Having played a horizon walker and an echo knight, I'll say right off the bat this will be a difficult build to utilise all the skills due to bonus actions; the core damage feature for horizon walkers utilises your bonus action every turn to do extra force damage, and the Echo Knight has to use a bonus action to create their duplicate.

Horizon Walker is the most tricky ranger to find a good level to multiclass out of IMO. Level 9 gives you Haste Level 10 sucks. Level 11 gives you an amazing subclass feature. Level 12 gives you ASI, and if you went either CE/SS or SS/Alert as I like to do it, or you didn't play a vhuman, you need the ASI to max DEX.

Dex honestly is the wrong match for melee horizen walker imo if you want to maximize. The subclass bonus action is amazing and that eating every bonus action makes two weapon fighting melee impossible so you are heavily handicapped going dex. I had a lot of fun running a greatsword strength build with heavily armored feat and defensive fight style.
