I think there is a way you can do this yourself and the steps given were straight forward. The important detail is that you have key #1 and it works in the ignition switch.

Press the set/reset button until "REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE" displays. The DIC reset button (check mark) doesn't work. It flashes but never displays "learning active".
