Replaced with en engine with 70,000 miles. Engine seems to run great. My engine light has been on ever since, with P2646 as the code. I have replaced the following since that time, all with OEM parts: VTEC Solenoid spool valve, both screens and gaskets and the oil valve timing switch sensor. New oil and filter was put in with the replaced engine.Based on your description, it sounds like your Element is in "limp" mode. My best guess is it will show either a P2646 or P2647 code; which means a problem with the VTEC system. But it may have another code too.
