The weapon art on the ore blade isn't unique, you can slap it onto a magic infused uchigatana or Nagakiba, which admittedly are harder to upgrade, but totally worth the investment. Meteoric has the benefit of a unique heavy attack, and apparently it doesn't bounce off of enemies who are "armored" or "hard" despite being a slashing weapon.

Use what you feel most comfortable with, but remember to infuse them into Keen variants to help improve their Dexterity scaling. I have 60 Int so I run spells/incantations for range support. Moonveil can do it but so far it seems the nagakiba seems to proc it more consistently. Still a lot of baddies to test.

When it’s fully upgraded, it deals a whopping 281 physical damage in standard scaling. If you’re interested in changing the Scaling of the Katana, I’d highly suggest going with the Keen scaling.
