Ordered one from Joe Hemi and installed it however it works in reverse. I was thinking maybe its a normally open switch rather than a normally closed switch.

If that doesn't fix it, bypass the clutch switch. Once you have determined which switch is the culprit, hook the other switch back up and make sure it still works. Then get some new switches and correct the problem properly. I am an advocate of proper use of safety switches.
