Second I kept getting fuel leaking out the overflow hose and did what was mentioned above. Happened 2-3 times and ran some fuel into a white coffee filter, was getting a few small pieces of sediment.

To clean/check it you have to remove the 2 bolts holding the petcock on the bottom of the fuel tank .. The fuel strainer on a TRX500 Foreman is inside the (brass) fuel hose pipe on the carb.
