There is no rim-fire exception on threaded barrels for pistols. It is illegal to have a threaded barrel on a pistol. I may be the one in the wrong here. I read the post body and saw the GSG m1911. OP is actually referring to the ATI gsg16 which is a carbine and the California legal MP5-22 is also a carbine.
